Registering with the Mater Mother’s
If you are receiving obstetric care with Novea Health Specialists, it is important to register your pregnancy with Mater Mothers Hospital. This ensures your details are recorded and your care is seamlessly coordinated.
To register, please visit the Mater Mothers website and follow the instructions on how to register through the Mater Patient Portal.
FIRST VISIT
At your first appointment, you will have a full hour to discuss your pregnancy, medical history and any questions you may have. Our goal is to ensure you feel fully informed and supported from the very beginning.
Every Novea Health obstetric patient receives a pregnancy pack, filled with helpful information, resources and a few special items for mum, dad and baby.
ULTRASOUND
Our practice is equipped with a GE Voluson E ultrasound machine, offering advanced, high-resolution 3D imaging for exceptional detail and clarity. You will receive printed images of your baby, or you are welcome to bring a USB for a keepsake video recording. This imaging service is billed once during your pregnancy.
ANTENATAL
Throughout your pregnancy, you will see your obstetrician regularly to monitor you and your baby’s health and development.
- Monthly visits during the first trimester
- Fortnightly visits during the second trimester
- Weekly visits through the later stages of the third trimester
You’ll also receive take-home ultrasound images to share with family and friends as your baby grows.

POSTNATAL
Around six weeks after birth, you will return for a postnatal check-up. This appointment is a chance to review your recovery, discuss any ongoing needs and celebrate this special new stage of life. While not essential, we love it when mothers bring their babies along for this visit.
PREGNANCY AND MANAGEMENT FEE
Like all private obstetric practices, Novea Health Specialists charge a Pregnancy and Management Fee (PMF) at 28 weeks. While this fee is not covered by private health insurance, a portion is rebateable through Medicare.
Your delivery fee will be billed directly to your health fund for convenience.
To ensure continuous, high-quality care, Novea Health Specialists are part of Mater Hill Private Obstetricians, a trusted group with more than 100 years of combined experience. If your primary obstetrician is unavailable, another highly qualified specialist from this group will have full access to your medical history and care plan, ensuring you remain supported at all times.
